This page explains what Tennis Yar keeps about you, why, who can see it, and how you can delete it.

  1. 1.Who we are

    Tennis Yar (tennisyar.com) is a service for finding tennis partners, recording match results, rankings and club management. For anything about your data, contact us at infotennisyar.com.

  2. 2.What we collect

    • Account: your name, mobile number or email, and password (stored hashed; we never see it).
    • Profile: photo, short bio, gender, year of birth, city, playing hand, and your answers to the level questionnaire.
    • Activity on Tennis Yar: your free times and clubs, connections, challenges, match results and rating, ladder memberships, messages and ladder chat, favourites and notifications.
    • Device: if you turn notifications on, your browser's push identifier; and the usual technical data any website receives (such as IP address and browser type) in server logs.
    • How you found us: if you arrive through a link carrying campaign tags (our Instagram link, for example), those tags are kept for 30 days in a first-party cookie and saved with your account when you sign up, so we know which campaign worked. Only admins can see it, and it does not identify you.
    • Club console: data a club enters about its members, bookings and payments. The club is responsible for that data; we hold it on the club's behalf.

  3. 3.How we use it

    Only to run the service: matching you with players at your level, challenges, recording results and calculating ratings, messaging, notifications, sending SMS login codes, preventing abuse and improving the service.

    We do not sell your data, do not use it for targeted advertising, and run no third-party analytics or tracking on the site.

  4. 4.Who sees what

    • Your name, photo, level, rating, city and usual free days are visible to other signed-in players, subject to your privacy settings (including visibility to the opposite gender) and the people you have blocked.
    • Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation; ladder chat only to that ladder's members.
    • Match results are visible to both players and to members of the ladder concerned, and your name and rating appear on the rankings.

  5. 5.Services we use

    • Supabase: database, login and file storage. Servers in Zurich, Switzerland.
    • Vercel: website hosting. Requests may be processed on servers in the United States.
    • Kavenegar: sends SMS login codes. Only your mobile number and the code are sent to it.
    • Your browser's push service (Google, Apple or Mozilla): only if you turn notifications on.
    • Cloudflare: domain and email routing.

  6. 6.How long we keep it

    For as long as your account is open. When you delete it, your data is erased or anonymised as described below. Technical server logs are kept for a few weeks at most.

  7. 7.Deleting your account

    You can delete your account at any time: in the app under Profile → Edit profile → Delete account, on the account deletion page, or by emailing infotennisyar.com.

    Deleting your account erases your profile, photo, free times, connections, messages, notifications and favourites, and you can no longer sign in. If you have recorded matches, those results stay without your name (shown as “Deleted player”), because they are part of your opponents' ratings.

  8. 8.Your rights

    You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how it is used. Most of this you can do yourself in your profile; for the rest, write to infotennisyar.com. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU you may also complain to your national data protection authority.

  9. 9.Age

    Tennis Yar is for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, use it with a parent's permission.

  10. 10.Changes to this policy

    If we change this policy we update the date at the top, and tell you in the app about any significant change.
